What are the advantages of the electric radiator?

In France, for example, electric radiators are installed in nearly a third of households. This success does not seem to be declining despite competition from many other heating methods. So what are the main advantages of electric radiators?

A safe source of heat

Unlike other energy sources, electric heating does not require combustion and therefore does not emit any smoke. It is therefore impossible to get carbon monoxide poisoning from a radiator! This gas, which is particularly harmful to your health, is produced by poor combustion. Then you will already have understood why radiators and carbon monoxide are totally incompatible in the case of an electric radiator. You will find many sites that will also confirm that there is no carbon monoxide relationship between electric radiators and carbon monoxide.

Simplicity and comfort

Installing electric radiators does not require great technical skills. Nor will you need to do any structural work to install them. Compared to a wood-burning heater, a radiator is also of threefold interest. Firstly, you will not have to set aside any space to store the energy source. Secondly, you will avoid all the handling operations involved in wood heating. Finally, electric heating does not emit the slightest dust and leaves your interior clean.

In the past, the radiator was often reputed to offer a non-uniform heat, i.e. with large variations. In concrete terms, the feeling oscillated between “too hot” and “too cold”. This lack of performance is now a thing of the past. Indeed, the electric radiator has benefited greatly in recent years from technological contributions that have radically changed its operation. It now diffuses optimal and truly uniform heat with a low level of loss. Most models also incorporate a thermostat to regulate them.

A wide choice of equipment

Just go to a DIY store or a specialised website to see the range of radiators available on the market. Some are simple convectors or real radiant panels, while others are so-called “inertia” radiators. All of them have different characteristics that allow them to be used for a wide range of applications. Indeed, a small bathroom does not require the same appliance as a large living room. It also goes without saying that rates can vary greatly depending on the type of electric heating you choose.

The acquisition cost of an electric radiator remains at an acceptable level compared to its main competitors. It is even among the most affordable in financial terms. Afterwards, such an appliance does not require any particular maintenance and will therefore not generate any additional expenses. These two advantages naturally appeal to most households in the process of installation whose financial means may be limited.
